DUT18D

The DUT18d was the first driverless car to compete in the Formula Student Driverless competitions, produced collaboratively by Formula Student Team Delft and MIT Driverless. To replace the eyes, the brain and hands of the driver, the car was retrofitted with a steering actuator, several powerful computing units, GPS, multiple cameras and a lidar sensor. Lots of complex software was written to detect the cones and steer the car around the track, making it fully autonomous. And the hard work paid off! The DUT18d became second at FSI and third at FSG! Amazing results for a first-time competitor.
